Throughout the season we will be selling two different sizes of buttons to celebrate the band and MJHS. Linked below is a Google Form with an order form to purchase. Smaller buttons are $2 and the larger buttons are $4. We will also be selling select designs out of the concessions stand during all home football games. Buttons orders will be fulfilled once we have confirmation of payment which can be made via cash, check, or Givebacks.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Hospitality Needs

After every home game, we need parents to assist with cleaning both the home and away bleachers. This is the band’s responsibility as part of being awarded concessions. I am adding a hospitality line to the chaperone sign up genius. We are asking for 4 people for each home game. Sign up for Hospitality here.

Tote N Tow Needs

Friday night was our first outing with the current props and things were a little bumpy. Brian Edge is our Tote N Tow Committee Chair and has given the Board a list of needs from the Tote N Tow Committee for all games and competitions for the rest of the season.

Notes:

  • Those who are signed up to chaperone can, and should, help with Tote N Tow (pushing props off and on the field) when possible.

  • 16 openings have been added to the sign up genius for Tote N Tow. 14 of those positions are fully accounted for and 2 of them are alternates.

Sign up for Tote N Tow here.

Prop Painting

We will be adding the final touches to props on Saturday, August 30, 2025. We need parent volunteers to help paint. We will be at the school at 8:00 and will work until we are finished. If you are able to participate, please reply to this email to let me know.

Laundry Needs

We have a few dates available to wash uniforms. Each sign up is worth an hour of volunteer hours. Click here for the laundry sign up.

Chaperone Needs

There are still openings for chaperones at upcoming games and competitions. All chaperoning hours count toward volunteer time. Reminder: all chaperones must be cleared through Wilson County Schools

Click here for a link to the BoG SignUp Genius

Concessions Sign Up

Looking for a way to help pay band dues? Sign up to work concessions and earn $15 for every hour that you work. There are various workstations and training is provided. This is also a really fun way to meet parents. Click here for a link to sign up to work concessions.

BAND MEAL BALANCE

Families with an overdrawn meal balance should expect to receive an email from Michele McDonald, our Board Vice President. Families are only charged for a meal if their student chooses to eat and will never be turned down, regardless of their balance. Payments can be made via Givebacks, cash, or a check dropped in the white box in Mr. Cox’s room. Check should be made out to Mt. Juliet Band Boosters and need to include your student’s name in the memo line and designate that the funds are for band meals.

Week of August 11

First, I want to take a moment to thank my fellow board members for stepping up and helping me this last week. Apparently a mid-summer sickness can really knock a girl down. An extra special thanks to my VP, Michele McDonald, for being a rockstar.

This week’s blog post is coming a little late due, in part, to my sickness, and also to relay information from last night’s booster meeting for those who couldn’t be there.

Band of Gold Updates - Week of August 4

SCHEDULE - WEEK OF AUGUST 4

CHALLENGE COIN FUNDRAISER

The Challenge Coin Fundraiser is now live!

What are challenge coins? Challenge coins serve as tangible reminders of shared experiences, accomplishments, and dedication to service. They originated in the military but expanded to police and law enforcement in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Backstory: In the spring of 2025, a band parent, Dionte Doris, approached the board with the idea for a challenge coin fundraiser to benefit the Band of Gold. He then spent the next few months getting all of the necessary approvals and collaborating with the ATF Nashville Field Division and the Wilson County Sheriff's Office to make this unique coin that represents the ATF and our Student Resource Officers.

The main focus of the design is a clear play on the Mt. Juliet High School Golden Bear mascot

Mature bear side (ATF): As Law Enforcement, the job requires and often expects officers to become ferocious when the time comes.

Teddy bear side (SRO): This side represents the soft side of law enforcement as caring partners, to their partners in law enforcement, but also, and especially, to the students in their school.

  • All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Mt. Juliet High School Band of Gold.

  • Sales are open to EVERYONE - parents, families, community - share as far and wide as you can

  • Coins are being sold with no limit, on a first come, first serve basis while the sale remains active.

  • The price is $45/each and includes shipping and handling.

Click here to check out the coin sale on Givebacks.

Volunteers Needed to Pack/Ship Coins

In the coming weeks, we will be organizing time to package, label, and ship coins. If you are interesting in getting some volunteer hours, please reply to this email to let me know and I will reach out when we have a confirmed date(s).
