The band hosts multiple fundraisers throughout the year.
Some fundraisers will help students earn money towards their fees (peaches, mums, and strawberries), while other fundraisers will go directly into the band program to help cover the cost of running the award winning Band of Gold.

PEACHES
Every summer, the band sells fresh peaches from Georgia. Orders are collected in May./June and peaches are delivered in July. Students receive 75% from the profits of each sale.
MUMS
Every fall, the band sells mums. Orders are collected in August and mums are delivered in September. Students receive 75% from the profits of each sale.
STRAWBERRIES
Every spring, the band sells fresh strawberries. Orders are typically taken in late January and strawberries are delivered in February. Students receive 75% from the profits of each sale.
FALL/WINTER SPONSORSHIPS
Get your favorite company to sponsor the Band of Gold! These sponsorships are collected over the summer for the fall marching season. 50% of each level of sponsorship will go directly towards student dues.
CAR WASHES
Car washes are a fun way for the students to help raise money for the band. Parents can earn volunteer hours by helping out. We typically do 3-5 car washes per school year, and they last ~4 hours.
BEAR CRAWL
The students march through neighborhoods playing fun parade music earning donations from members of the community.
ALUMINUM CANS
The band raises money by collecting aluminum cans for recycling. You can find the trailer for the cans across the parking lot from the band room (near the greenhouse). Please recycle with us!
CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP
This fundraiser is sponsored by our percussion group. After Christmas, they will come pick up your live Christmas tree and dispose of it for you. Donations are welcome.
GOLDEN BEAR BASH
During January, the band hosts a winter performance contest at MJHS for guard, percussion, and winds in the SCGC circuit. It is an all day event hosted solely by our band, and we rely heavily on parent and student volunteers for things to run smoothly.
DINNER AND A SHOW
In the spring, we host a spaghetti dinner followed by a performance by each of our 3 winter groups. This is an excellent opportunity to see how hard our winter groups work. Parents can earn work hours for prepping, serving, and cleaning up during the dinner.
SILENT AUCTION
Periodically we host a silent auction, often associated with one of our other fundraising events. If you or your company would like to donate to the auction, we are always looking for items to use.
