Week of June 28

We are stuffing ourselves silly over here with some delicious peach recipes. I say it every summer, but these are the best peaches we've ordered yet for the band! I hope you were able to get your hands on some.

Fundraising Chair 

The band is in need of a fundraising chair! This is a booster board position and will be voted on at our July booster meeting. If you think you are a good fit for this position, please reach out to me. You can read about the position here. If you have more questions, please feel free to reach out.

Since it's summertime and there's not much going on band-wise at the moment, I thought it might be a good time to do a quick "blog tour."

Week of June 21

Happy Father's Day to all our Band Dads out there! Thank you for chaperoning, making props, pushing equipment, hauling trailers, filling coolers, and so much more. Thanks for BEING there for your student and the band!

Peaches

Peaches will be delivered TOMORROW, June 22. Pick up time in the band room will be from 5PM-7PM. If you placed an order the week after band camp, please bring a check to cover your peaches order.

If you are available to help unload peaches at 8 AM on June 22, please come help! If you ordered peaches, you can go ahead and take them home with you at that time.

Senior Parents received an email last week regarding Senior Salutes. Please check your email for more information. Due date is June 24 which is this coming Wednesday.

Band Sponsorships

Band Sponsorships are a great way for the band to raise money for the fall marching season. This money goes towards competition fees, props, instructor costs, transportation, and more! Please consider reaching out to the company you work for to see if they would be willing to sponsor the band or a company you love that you think would support the band. We have multiple levels of sponsorship available. You can find our current sponsorship form here. Sponsorship forms are due August 1.

Peaches

Peaches will be delivered June 22. Pick up time in the band room will be from 5PM-7PM. If you placed an order the week after band camp, please bring a check to cover your peaches order.

A huge thank you to all the parents and students who spent their Saturday morning helping the band! The car wash and yard sale at WWMS were a big success in large part to everyone that showed up to help. We appreciate you so much!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Peaches

Peach orders have been submitted to our vendor. We had about 12 students participate. Thank you to those families that sold peaches!

Fundraisers

We now have 3 band fundraisers under our belt for the fall marching season. I will announce our totals at our next booster meeting in July, but it's quite a bit less than what we had hoped for at this point. 

Unfortunately, we have seen fundraiser participation amongst families dwindle significantly over the years. It takes the entire band family to make a fundraiser a big hit. The more participation, the more money the band is able to raise, and the FEWER fundraisers we need to host. We try to stick to our big fundraisers (peaches, mums, strawberries) but when participation lessens, we have to look at more to do. Please consider participating in our future fundraisers for the sake of the band program.

 

 

 

Week of May 31

Thank you to everyone who helped out at the school last week with band meals and parent work day! Parent volunteers are 100% the backbone of a successful band program.

I think the first week of band camp was a big success. The kids seem super excited about the fall show and music. I can't wait to see it all come together!

Peaches

Our peach vendor has given us until the end of the week to put in our order so if you have any more sales to add, please feel free to add them to the online order form! Payment can be made on Givebacks.  

Orders will arrive June 22 and will need to be picked up between 5 - 7PM that evening in the band room. We cannot hold peaches.

Car Wash & Yard Sale

The band car wash and yard sale are this coming weekend! The weather is looking good (finally!) so hopefully we will have a lot of customers. 

PLEASE SIGN UP IF YOU CAN HELP WITH EITHER EVENT! We also need a LOT of students to help with the car wash! 

Both events are at WWMS. The yard sale begins at 7:30 AM and the car wash begins at 9 AM.

Those that applied for a band scholarship will be notified in July when we return for the next band camp whether you received a scholarship or not.

2027 Disney Trip

If you are interested in the Band Disney Trip next spring, you can find info here. This is general information about how the trip typically works. At the bottom of the page are links to the interest form sign up and the link to make the initial $50 deposit to hold your student's seat on the charter bus.
