Volunteering

In the Band of Gold, we have multiple ways to volunteer.

Did you know if you volunteer 25 hours as a parent/guardian, you can deduct $250 from your student's fees? Be sure to track your hours worked on the Volunteer Tracking Form.

Ways to volunteer:

Join a committee! If you specialize in something, join a committee so you can help in an area you're already good at.

Committees:

Fundraising - help plan/run fundraisers with our fundraising chairperson

Meals - help feed the kids during band camp, before football games, and on contest days

Props - help build and maintain props used during shows

Chaperoning - chaperones are needed for home and away games, contests, and other outings where the band leaves campus

Tote & Tow - help the band push heavy equipment onto the field and tow trailers to events

Uniforms - help keep track of, sew, and wash uniforms for the band

You can also work with any of these groups and NOT be part of a committee. When we need help, an email or Remind will be sent out asking for all hands on deck. Everyone is welcome!

Parent Work Day - Another way to help is to come to a Parent Work Day. These are held on Saturday mornings and will be on the band calendar. There are usually multiple band chores that need tending to depending on the time of year.

Events - Volunteer your time working an event hosted by the band.

NOTE: Working concessions does not count towards volunteer hours, however, you do earn money that goes directly towards your student's fees.
