First, I want to take a moment to thank my fellow board members for stepping up and helping me this last week. Apparently a mid-summer sickness can really knock a girl down. An extra special thanks to my VP, Michele McDonald, for being a rockstar.
This week’s blog post is coming a little late due, in part, to my sickness, and also to relay information from last night’s booster meeting for those who couldn’t be there.

Sign up to work football concessions
Looking to earn money to help pay band fees or get involved with the band? The link to sign up to work football concession is now live for the entire regular season. No experience is necessary and there are many different jobs from being a food runner or cashier to working to grill and fryers. Every hour worked is paid $15 and the money will be credited to your band fees. Click here to sign up.
CHAPERONING - SIGNING UP AND REQUIRED APPROVAL
Getting District Approval
All chaperones must be approved through Wilson County Schools prior to chaperoning games, trips, or competitions. To get approval, click this link and complete the BOTH the Day Trip Chaperone Packet AND the Raptor Link for Daytime Chaperones. Once you receive your approval from the district, you must forward your approval email to mjbogsecretary@gmail.com.
Sign up to Chaperone & Get volunteer hours
The sign up to chaperone for all fall events are now live. This includes football games (both home and away) and competitions. This is a fun way to travel with the band, get to know students, get into events for free (!), and get volunteer hours in for dues credit.
Note: The SignUp Genius Link above contains sign ups for multiple things. Make sure you look across the tabs at the top of the page to find each of them (see below).
BAND JACKET REPRESENTATIVE ONSITE
If your student is interested in getting a band jacket, a representative from Jostens will be at the band room on Thursday, August 21, from 4:00 - 6:00pm. Parents/families are encouraged to speak with the representative directly, if possible. Contact information and flyers will be shared for those who are unable to attend.
