What a week! First Freshman/JV concession stand, first away football game with the pep band, and this year's Exhibition show with all the other great high school bands in Wilson County!
Our kids are looking pretty sharp in those uniforms! Thank you, uniform committee!
You may have also noticed those great looking props on the field Saturday night. A big thank you to everyone that came to help paint on Friday evening! We were able to get 11 targets and two vinyl frames painted in about an hour and a half.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who chaperoned, help feed the kids, pushed props on and off the field, helped with hair, and worked concessions!
A big shout out to everyone donating 8 oz waters! We had plenty for this past weekend, and should also have enough for next weekend as well. Thank you!
We have a lot coming up this week. The following help is needed (Sign Up Genius):
Monday - Freshman/JV game
- Concessions help (band students not in after school practice are welcome to help! Sign them up!)
- This is will be a more limited concession stand, but we still need help
- Hospitality to help clean stands
Friday - HOME football game (Homecoming)
- 4 parent chaperones
- Tote-n-Tow help to push props/equipment on/off the field
- Meal help
- Hair help (arrive 4:30ish)
- Concessions help
- Hospitality help
- Laundry helpers to uniforms

Freshman/JV Concessions
We need ~4-6 adults to help as cashiers and grillers, and students are welcome to fill the other spots. We will sign off on volunteer hours for them. Just be sure to sign them up on the Sign Up Genius so 1) we know to expect them and 2) we don't have to turn kids away because we have too many.
Mums Fundraiser
While we have kicked off the mums fundraiser with the parents, Mr. Cox will be kicking it off with the students this week and will announce some fun prizes for top selling students as well as top selling groups.
Keep an eye out for a colored brochure coming home this week. You can find a digital copy here.
Mr. Cox is asking every band students to sell 8 mums!
Important things to know:
- Orders will be due September 14 and will arrive at the school September 23
- 5 mums colors available - Yellow, Orange/Bronze, Purple/Pink, White, Red
- Available in 3 sizes - 12-18" ($15), 18-24" ($20), and 24-30" ($25 and come in a decorative pot)
- Succulent bowl available to order in a decorative pot - $20
- Payment can be a check made out to Mt. Juliet Band Boosters or paid via Givebacks.
Aluminum Cans
A huge thank you to everyone who has been donating their aluminum cans to the band! Please be sure to remove cans from bags before adding directly to the cage.
Good new - our can trailer is FULL! If anyone is willing to take it to the scrap yard, please let me know!
